Technology
Synergy Dental utilizes technological advances that science has made
to allow us to better serve our patients. We believe that when you
use the finest tools, you can produce superior results with more ease. Modern
technology not only allows precision, efficiency and predictability
for dentists, but also allows patients to have a better understanding
of their situation while spending less time in the chair. Some of these
technological advances include:
Computerization
With paperless patient records, office staff can easily access information,
patient records, dental images, & even schedule appointments to
expedite patient care and office processes. With computers in every
treatment room, patients can view their own records and dental images
during their visit. Visual tooth charting and treatment planning allows
patients to have a clearer picture of current conditions and recommended
treatments. With electronic claim submission, those who have insurance
will have faster resolution of their claims.
Intra-Oral Cameras/Digital Imaging
An intra-oral camera is a
tiny, precise camera that fits into the mouth and takes digital photographs
of teeth and gums, allowing patients to see what the dentist sees.
Being able to view decay, gum disease, and other possible dental problems
helps patients make informed decisions about their dental condition.
These digital photos are then assembled into an image archive which
can be used to monitor changes over time.
Digital Radiography
Instead of film based X-rays, computerized images are created that
can be digitally enhanced and magnified for review. These state-of-the-art
computerized images can identify dental issues - gum problems, tooth
decay - and expose the patient to less radiation than traditional X-rays.
Again, patients have the benefit of a better understanding when they
can see larger images on a monitor.
Panoramic X-Ray Imaging
Used for evaluation, a panoramic x-ray
machine creates radiographic images that survey the complete oral landscape
(panoramic view). Incorporating this machine into a digital system
reduces patient radiation exposure to a minimum.
DIAGNOdent™ laser decay detector
The DIAGNOdent™ is a small, portable laser that scans teeth for early detection and diagnosis of tooth decay. It can help locate early stage decay that may be hidden in the cracks and crevices of teeth, which are virtually undetectable by clinical exam or x-rays.
Ultrasonic Scalers/Air Polishing Prophylaxis System
Comfortable and effective hygiene (cleanings)
is accomplished with these super-slim tools that help us to clean under
the gums and more easily remove stains that cause darkening of teeth.
Color Corrected Lighting
These assist with cosmetic procedures. The lighting system may
not be as high-tech as other equipment, however, we have found that
by utilizing special "full-spectrum" lighting in our operatories,
we are able to offer more ease in accurate color matching for crowns
and composite fillings than regular fluorescent lights.
Rotary Endodontics
This is a system that assists in root canal therapy. In addition to
hand files, special handpieces w/ nickel-titanium rotary files are
incorporated to shape, sterilize, and fill the roots of teeth. This
system saves time that patients would have spent in the chair and also
reduces hand fatigue for the dentist.
Apex Locator
Root canal therapy can sometimes be difficult to complete using X-rays
and files alone. Apex locators are miniature computers that help to
determine the length of a canal within a half millimeter.
LED Curing Lights
Curing lights are used in various dental procedures. For a long time
the standard in curing lights has been halogen based. LED (light emitting
diode) is the next generation, high-intensity light polymerization device
that is built for efficiency. Because LED lights produce less heat, the
intensity of light remains constant which results in less cure time with
a predictable depth or cure. |
